It does not take long for a new translator or interpreter to see that terminology for diabetes is a necessity in their work. But what about an understanding of the disease? Even experienced linguists may fall short on knowing the full story, and the latest treatment options, for the condition.

Join Presenter Tracy Young in this 60-minute webinar for a comprehensive overview of diabetes. You'll examine the three most common types—Type 1, Type II, and gestational —in addition to recent research that suggests there are actually five classifications. You'll also review the frequency, causes, and risk factors for the disease, as well as the cultural implications and misconceptions.

The webinar will wrap up with the latest treatment options, including some believed to reverse Type II diabetes.

What will you learn?
  • Types and definitions of diabetes mellitus
  • Epidemiology of diabetes mellitus (causes and risks)
  • Cultural implications
  • State-of-the-art treatments
  • Controversial treatment plans
