In this four-hour training session, interpreter Andy Gillies will explain the main elements of a note-taking system for long consecutive interpreting. You'll examine the major components of the system, including links, symbols, and "position as information"; learn how structures in notes support analysis, recall, and presentation skills; and discover ways to learn and practice in isolation.

The workshop will consist of two, two-hour sessions with a one-hour break in between.

1. Review and practice of a complete note-taking system
2. How structure in notes can be used to present meaning
3. How to use notes to improve delivery
4. How to use symbols in notes effectively
5. How to note less and remember more
