So much of our day is spent on repetitive tasks—copying terms from a PDF document to an Excel worksheet, finding repetitions in your translation environment tool, changing capitalization, and much more. If only there were a better way to do these things so that you had more time for the creative part of translation and interpreting!

Enter AutoHotkey, a free tool that makes automating computer tasks seem like magic.

In the first of this two-part webinar series, you will learn the basics of AutoHotkey, including how to create macros to combine steps in a multi-part task. You will then be able to do routine tasks much quicker, such as typing a couple of letters that expand into a full phrase, transferring copied text from one program to another, and taking your favorite CAT tools to the next level.

In Part 2 of the series, you will build on the content discussed in Part 1 and take your automation to the next level, while still keeping it simple enough so that you do not need any previous programming experience.
